Unfinished Gifts

I received this last night:

I own the pan, it was simply being returned to me. With some unmade lemon bars, and an apology that the bars were not made.
I was also offered two Christmas gifts this week, one with out a tag, (when all the others had them, and one without a treat, (when all the others had one.)
Then I started thinking about unfinished gifts, why we give them and who gets them.
I think the people that receive these "unfinished gifts" are loved more, at least I like to think that I am.
Let me explain:
The reasons we give them: life kinda gets in the way, we get short handed, we run out of stuff or just don't feel like it.
I think when I'm in any of these gift giving situations, that gift will always go to my mom.
Mom gets it because she doesn't care if it's unfinished or not.
She loves the gift, no matter what it is.
She knows that life happens to everyone.
She won't talk bad to anyone about receiving it such poor conditions.
She understands "it's the thought that counts."
Sad as it might be sometimes, family gets put on the back burner and she is just grateful to be there.
And she will still love me unconditionally.
I am grateful for my unmade lemon bars.
Thanks!

I NEED HELP!!!

I'm thinking this might be the fastest way instead of calling everyone.
I need some addresses for Christmas cards.
I know for sure I need:
Annie and Morgan
Deanna and Bradley
Mike and Raquel
Mechelle and Phil
As for everyone else, I at least have one, but it might be old. If you want to sent it to me anyway I can double check.
My comments are all moderated by me so if you want to just leave it as a comment you can, I won't post it.
Thanks for all your help!!!
Happy Christmas!!!

I am now a fan!

So, I've used this product before. It's never been anything to write home about.
Until now.
I've been stuffed up for the last week.
I didn't want to take anything because I'm pregnant.
And then I thought about an email my Nana sent me that said to put Vick's VapoRub on the bottom of your feet, put some socks on and go to bed.
And so I did.
It took a little bit for it to work, maybe 20 minutes. But I didn't wake up once to blow my nose.
And I didn't even have to blow my nose in the morning either.
And it kept working until about 10 or 11 the next morning.
It was awesome.
When I've used it before, the recomended way, it just drains all the snot and you have to blow your nose forever.
Not this time.
It was just gone, from the inside out.
Plus, It made my feet feel sooo good.

PURE AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle, who owns the Random Clothing store here in St. George, bought two theatres out for the movie premiere of TWILIGHT! The movie was last night at 12:01:00am! We had a group of twelve friends that took turns all day camping out at the theatre to save our spot, which, by the way, we were FIRST IN LINE! (thanks Liz!!!)

They had the radio station there giving away prizes. They had a TON of vendors set up all down one side of the theatre, and a few around the corner.

It was a BLAST! My little sis Taylor, won a drawing for Bella's Bracelet!

I didn't bring my camera, Deb brought hers and took so many awesome pics. If you want to see them, go to twilightmoviepartystgeorge.blogspot.com or funnyfacephoto.com and find her blog. But I'm sure it will be a few days before they post.

There is a new trailer out for HP and the Half-blood Prince. SWEET!

And the movie......

IS PURE AWESOMENESS!!!!!

I'm not gonna tell you single thing about it!

I did dream about it all night long though, and I can't wait until it comes out on DVD!!!

It's a good movie.

See, I was going somewhere with all this

I just wanted everyone to know how BIG, all these musicians are.

I know that most of you (if not all of you) have heard of at least 2, maybe 3 of these guys.

Greg, even your comment (that was awesome by the way) about how you don't like Bob Dylan, you still put how famous he is. Which was the exact point I was trying to make.

So, you would just think: That if all these guys, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and Jeff Lynne all got together and formed a band,

HOW WOULD ANYONE NOT KNOW OF IT!

YEAH it really happened. And it makes me sad that non of you know about it.

My Dear friend Deborah is the only person I've ever met who has heard of these guys.

I'm so grateful that I stumbled upon them when I was still little.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Once upon a time...

George Harrison was asked to do a B-side (a filler song on an album no one ever listens too.)

He asked Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison if they wanted to help him write "a little tune."

They asked Bob Dylan if they could mess around in his studio. He said yes.

George's guitar was over at Tom Petty's house, so Jeff and Tom picked George up and they all went to Bob's to play.

And they all wrote a song. "Handle with Care"

They turned it in for the B-side and the producers said it was WAY to good to be wasted on a B-side and asked if they wanted to make an album out of it.

And they did. They all wanted to keep if fun. Nothing serious so they came up with with name Traveling Wilburys. They all write, they all sing, and they all play.

This video was made after Roy died. That's his guitar in the rocking chair.

Gives You Hell!

Bob Dylan and George Harrison

Bob Dylan has won a Grammy, Golden Globe and some Academy Awards.

He's been inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

And Songwriters Hall of Fame.

In 2008 he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation for his impact on music and American Culture.

A lot of his songs were protest songs like "Oxford Town," it was written about the crap James Meredith had to go through as the first black man to enroll at the university of Mississippi.

He walked out of the Ed Sullivan TV Show because he was told the song he was planning on singing was potentially libelous to the John Birch Society. Rather than change his song, to a nicer one, he simply left.

George Harrison, well, he was a Beatle. And they were good friends.

Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne

Some of you younger kids out there may not have heard of Roy Orbison, but I know

you've all heard the song "Pretty Woman."

He was pretty big back in his day.

He has three hits that made it to the grammy's hall of fame.

Evlis called him the "Greatest sing in the world."

In 1989 he was inducted in to the Songwriters Hall of fame.

In 1998 he was honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievment Award.

Rolling stone put 4 of his songs in there "500 greatest hits of all time" chart.

And they ranked him #37 out the 100 Greatest artist of all time.

I know this is a cheesie video. Here is the late Roy Orbison with Pretty Woman:

(Aunt Mindy, this song makes me think of you!)

I don't expect anyone to know who Jeff Lynne is.

But that's okay, I'll tell you a little bit about him.

Jeff was born in 1947.

He has a very long musical background, which is kinda boring, but important non the less.

He co-wrote a ton of songs. Good ones too, such as:

"With a little help from my friends" The Beatles

"I've got my mind set on you" George Harrison

"You got it" Roy Orbison

He also produced a bunch of albums for Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney, and Ringo

Starr, and the Traveling Wilburys.

Who's the Traveling Wilburys you say? I'll tell ya in a minute.

Tom Petty

I just really like Tom Petty. He's beautiful and I love him.

Free Fallen is one of my favorite songs. I know I was only 6 or 7 when this song came out, but come on.

I remember dancing with my mom in the kitchen to this song.
I remember doing the air guitar with my dad singing along.
I remember my middle school science teacher (who I had a crush on) playing this on his computer during class.
I remember singing this song with all my friends.
My grandma would even nod her head to the beat.

It's just a good american song. I'm grateful for Tom Petty. My eyes are swelling up tears now as I write this. (Only because I'm pregnant.) But it's one song that has brought a huge group of people together. And it makes people happy. It's a feel good song.

I just love it, and I wanted to share it with you.

Do any of you have any good memories you'd want to share about Tom Petty songs?

(Plus, he has a voice, that just makes your clothes want to fall off!)

Noah's crawl

I finally got it to work. Here is the other video of him crawling.

Stink bug crawl

So little baby Noah has the cutest stink bug crawl ever. I've tried many times to catch him on video, but the little bugger is too fast.
There is a half second delay on my camera when I push the record button. So by the time is starts, he's done.
And if I start recording before he crawls, he won't crawl.
So today I tried again, and now he decided that he wants to walk instead. What do you do?
He's still faster crawling so I pulled out some handy fruit snacks. Jason sat at one end of the living room and I at the other. I held his leg until the camera was recording and this is what we got.
Hope you like it!

THRILLER!!!!!

So we went to see THRILLER last night out at Tuachan. It's awesomet. Payton's absolute favorite thing ever. I got the kids excited earlier in the day for it by watching Michael Jackson's Music Video for Thriller. (Yes I own it, me and the kids watch it every Halloween.) And I know it's been ages since all y'all have seen it so look it up on youtube. Here are a few other pics of some zombies from last night! Enjoy.

Noah was on my lap and kept kicking my arms, so sorry some are kinda blurry.

Notice Payton's blinders. He didn't like the zombies up close. Just the ones far away.

Baby Chuck!

So I know it's been a while, but I had this post in-mind, and I couldn't post it until my friend Janet posted first. I don't want to "steal the thunder" if you know what I mean.

I had never seen a natural birth before. My good friend Janet, just happened to be pregnant, and delivering naturally. So I was really excited when she said I could be there and watch!!! Yeah!

This really is something that I think every woman should witness. It is so awesome. Birth in general is awesome. But to do it without drugs? Even better my friends!

Most of you already know that I had Noah at home and without drugs. Janet was there as my doula and kinda got turned into my midwife. It was great, 3 hours, I didn't even have to push once. My body just kinda spat him out. Mine, and my mom's C-section with Taylor was all I've ever seen of birth. And my mom's was only about 20 minutes.

So Greg (or maybe Janet, I can't remember) called me the morning of baby Chuck and said it's time. And I said, "Time for what?" Ya, I can be that slow sometimes.

I picked Deb up and we got there about noon. She labored awhile. Not very exciting yet, although Greg did make some wicked chicken! (Thanks Greg!) And with every contraction I was a little jealous that it was Janet and not me. Yes, natural birth is that awesome! I did confess my thoughts to Janet and she made me feel a lot better by saying, " That's okay, I felt the same way when you were having Noah."

It's great to have a friend like that. That you can be totally honest with, no worries about hurt feelings. She even told me once she hated my knew hair cut. Janet I love you!!!

About 4 or 5ish Janet was checked and was at a 6! So I got really excited thinking here we go any minute. Just a few more contractions, come on we've be doing this all freakin' day!

Another few hours go by and Deb had to leave on a photo shoot for an hour and left a camera with me to kinda "take over until I get back" I'm just really glad I paid attention a few weeks before when Deb was showing me some different things. It was great fun. And Deb didn't have to delete all of them either. I actually got a pretty big handful of good pics. (and a couple of great ones!)

So about 9 Janet's labor kinda slowed down. Greg told me she was going to take a nap. And by the way she was dilated to a 9. Like that happens? Like you can just stop and rest for awhile? I don't even know what a 9 feels like. It's 5,6,7, baby for me! 9 what? Crazy woman! So I took Noah home to go to bed and went on a Frosty run for everyone.

I walked in the door with balancing 9 frosties to here Laura (the midwife) say, "Janet, talk to your baby." I immediately thought "Oh damn it! I missed it!" I then looked to Deb and she had a huge smile on her face and was waving my over to her.

Oh no, there was no baby yet. Chuck just happened to be anterior and a little stuck. He was a hard one. (That's what she said) Janet tried a few more times and Greg gave her a blessing. Janet decided to transport.

So off we went to the hospital.

Baby Chuck was born naturally at 11:08 pm on 10.09.08

Beautiful baby boy. Good job mom. Greg, you were awesome. The whole birth team was Great, at home and at the hospital. Nice pics Deb.

Janet, thank you so much for letting me be a part of this. You have a wonderful family, a super supportive husband and awesome kids! I really appreciate everything that you've done for me and my babies. I know without a doubt, that I could not have done it without you!

Karma

Little Noah

Little Lincoln

I am a firm believer that if you do good things for people, people will do good things for you.
Last night I was talking to my dear friend Deborah who is sick. She is really, really sick. Maybe somethings going around, cuz I've been feeling a little yucky myself. She said that she just wants to sit in a hot bath tub and eat soup. Cheese Broccoli soup. And she wondered if I knew of any such place where she could acquire such soup.
Well it just so happens that my Mother-in-law has a recipe for a Wicked Cheese Broccoli Soup.
I called Patti first thing this morning (sorry Patti) and got that recipe.
I took Jack to school for her and kept Lincoln. (He's in afternoon Kindergarten.) Hauled Link and Noah to Harmon's at 9:0something and bought all the ingredients we needed. We came back to the house and Link helped me make the yummy soup.

Link mashing the noodles

Link chopping the onions

The whole time we were at Harmon's I was going to throw-up. I just wanted to go home a go back to bed. I had a dirty house that needed to be cleaned. I haven't done my dishes in 4 days. I was behind on laundry. My workroom was a mess.

Who am I kidding, I didn't want to go home. I just wanted to call my mommy so she could take care of me while I was sick.

Anyway while I was at Harmon's I kept thinking. It's okay, were almost done. Deb is way sicker than me anyway. And service is awesome! It's my favorite. I love doing things for other people, but I feel kinda selfishly about it. Because I like to do service for the way it makes me feel. Not so much how it makes the other person feel. Okay, maybe just a little bit. Service makes me happy. Even if it's service that I'd would rather not be doing. Plus you get blessings. And hey, ya I could use a bit right now.

Now the point of the story. My mom and my sister-in-law showed up at my house this morning to help me.
My mom helped me make the soup and do my dishes, got me something to eat, and went to run some errands for me.
Kristi called to see if wanted to go for a walk with her and couldn't cuz I had work to do. So she walked up to my house and cleaned it for me. She did my laundry, folded and put it away too (by the way, that's the worst part!) She vacuumed my workroom, cleaned the living room, and went through the pile of crap in the hallway.

You guys are awesome!!! Thank you so much for all your help. I'm so grateful for my family and friends for everything. For everything they do for me and for every opportunity they give me to serve. I love you.

P.S. Deb I hope you get feeling better!!!

US Advantage

So about a year ago, a black man came to my home. He was selling a cleaning product called, US Advantage. He was a pretty funny guy (and when I say funny, I really mean CRAZY) and he SHOWED me that it gets oil, off the drive way. Yeah, Oil! It gets Marker out of clothes and stains off the carpet too! So I had to buy some. I sent him off to Kaci's house, I knew she'd get a kick out of him too! Well, while that story is all cute and everything, I have an even better one...

I was making a mix of my favorite juices. Cranberry and Grape. They were both frozen, and needed to thaw. Thus the reason for setting them on the counter. I told Dallen and Payton, "DO NOT TOUCH THESE. I'M MAKING JUICE, THESE NEED TO THAW. IF YOU TOUCH THEM I WILL BITE YOU!" (not really, but you get the idea.) We've done this before, not usually a problem. Well after about 20 minutes Payton had noticed that the grape juice was already open. Thinking this was a major problem that could off set the time he would receive this good juice, he thought it an emergency, and that I absolutely need to be made aware of the situation at once. He took it upon him self to do the job. He picked that open can of grape juice and brought it to me in the living room.

This was the result:

And THIS, my friends, is After:

Sleepy baby

I love my babies. They sleep so good. Noah is now 10 monthes old. He's has been asleep for almost 2 hours,
in his swing,
in the living room,
by the TV,
that is turned on,
next to payton,
who has been crashing trucks,
and with Dallen home,
running around,
and with me,
talking on the phone.
No one is being quite for this little guy, and yet he sleeps. And he sleeps so good.

I am thankful.

I love that my baby sleeps and I don't have to wisper, tiptoe, or hush my other children.

It's gonna EXPLODE!!!

So, when all your kids are playing nice together it's just wonderful. And then they start to get a little bit quiet. And then you hear, "Watch out, It's gonna EXPLODE!" You just have to stop playing the Wii and see what the little buggers are up to.

This is what I found.

They've been out their about an hour or so now. Dallen figured out how to make it explode. He turns it all the way on, then all the way of real fast, then steps on the hose. All the kids get real close to get a good look and then run back and scream as they all get sprayed. Ahh, one day at a time.

A new red dot!

Yeah! Deanna found me. I'm so happy!

Okay, Blog's are awesome. Now everyone can know everything about anyone without talking on the phone all day long.

Especally people you want to talk to, but you just never call because they are just beyond arms reach.

I love you Deanna.

Kiss your baby for me!!!

Farewell to an old friend

This is my old stapler. We've worked together now for almost 3 years. He has served me well.

We've recovered my dinning room chairs, made shelves, covered boards and made many, many other crafts together.

He's been good to me. He's always been there for me when I've needed him.

In the last few months though, I have outgrown my stapler. Sometimes it's hard to say goodbye, but...

it was time for an upgrade.

This is my new stapler!!! Yeah!!!

It's a Bostitch. A 6.0gal air compressor, 2.0 hp, 135psi and 2.1cfm @ 90psei.

Like I know what any of that means, BUT I'M SO EXCITED!!!

I love my new stapler.

Sooooo, much better than my old one.

It came with 2 other nail guns and a canvas carry bag.

And yeah, this is for me, not for my husband (whom I love dearly and can borrow it anytime he wants too).

Ya! Did I mention, I love my new stapler?

Cuz I do.

Laundry is probably not the most fun thing i've ever done.

LOOK at my ridiculously tall mountain of laundry.

At least my dress is pretty.

Hey now, you're an ALLSTAR!!!

So once upon a time, there was this awesome mom who had a hidden talent for wining stuff off the radio. A few days ago, she won 4 tickets to Smashmouth!!! Yeah!!! Oh wait, that was me! So Jason and I called some friends of ours to take them with us. The lucky little cherries they are. Here are some pics from the concert.

I think I had more fun than anyone else. But that always happens. (Not that it's a bad thing.)
(I promise, no drugs, at all, for any of us.)

Navel Gazing at its Finest

This is awesome.

Water fight at bedtime

So bedtime around here is at 7:00pm So at about 6:32ish when we should all be getting ready for bed. I didn't think my kids were dirty enough for a bath yet, so we played with some chalk and added a little water. And a few minutes later I got the hose and couldn't take anymore pictures sorry. Bedtime got pushed back to 8:something. Gracie said I was a bad mom, but that is was okay cuz she liked it. And Noah kept sticking his face in the cups of water. Every time. I don't know what he was thinking. He would just crawl up to a cup of water and stick his face in it. I have weird kids, I know. But they have me for a mom, what'd you expect?

Payton's Candy Corn Song

So Jason gave Payton one piece of candy. It was a candy corn. It was Payton's FAVORITE piece of candy. He liked it soooo much he made a song for it. It's called the candy corn song. We've been singing it a lot today. I hope you like it as much as we do. As soon as I can figure out how to put it on here.
