I just really like Tom Petty. He's beautiful and I love him.
Free Fallen is one of my favorite songs. I know I was only 6 or 7 when this song came out, but come on.
I remember dancing with my mom in the kitchen to this song.
I remember doing the air guitar with my dad singing along.
I remember my middle school science teacher (who I had a crush on) playing this on his computer during class.
I remember singing this song with all my friends.
My grandma would even nod her head to the beat.
It's just a good american song. I'm grateful for Tom Petty. My eyes are swelling up tears now as I write this. (Only because I'm pregnant.) But it's one song that has brought a huge group of people together. And it makes people happy. It's a feel good song.
I just love it, and I wanted to share it with you.
Do any of you have any good memories you'd want to share about Tom Petty songs?
(Plus, he has a voice, that just makes your clothes want to fall off!)

Thanks for sharing even though it's a super sappy post. :O)
*sigh* i so love Tom Petty! I remember seeing the video to Into the Great Wide Open, it has Johnny Depp in it, and I totally fell in love, with Tom and Johnny. my 12 year old self went right out and bought the tape! Those were the days!
Oh, here is the link to that video if you want to check out Tom & Johnny sweetness! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw9FzO9Z43I
When I was in the Army, I was driving my motorcycle from St. George to Monterey California. As I was driving up Hwy 5 in Southern California I was grooving out to Free Fallin'. Just as I drove past the VENTURA BOULEVARD exit...Tom was singing about the Vampires down on VENTURA BLVD! I bonded. It changed my life...and as a result everytime I hear his voice, my clothes fall off...dangdest thing though, I wish I could stop that from happening. I just have to make sure I am in a "safe place" when I listen to the song.
(Headphones at church is NOT safe!)
By the way...my word verification below is flatshiz...that is the BEST one I have ever seen!
