Karma

Little Noah

Little Lincoln

I am a firm believer that if you do good things for people, people will do good things for you.
Last night I was talking to my dear friend Deborah who is sick. She is really, really sick. Maybe somethings going around, cuz I've been feeling a little yucky myself. She said that she just wants to sit in a hot bath tub and eat soup. Cheese Broccoli soup. And she wondered if I knew of any such place where she could acquire such soup.
Well it just so happens that my Mother-in-law has a recipe for a Wicked Cheese Broccoli Soup.
I called Patti first thing this morning (sorry Patti) and got that recipe.
I took Jack to school for her and kept Lincoln. (He's in afternoon Kindergarten.) Hauled Link and Noah to Harmon's at 9:0something and bought all the ingredients we needed. We came back to the house and Link helped me make the yummy soup.

The whole time we were at Harmon's I was going to throw-up. I just wanted to go home a go back to bed. I had a dirty house that needed to be cleaned. I haven't done my dishes in 4 days. I was behind on laundry. My workroom was a mess.

Who am I kidding, I didn't want to go home. I just wanted to call my mommy so she could take care of me while I was sick.

Anyway while I was at Harmon's I kept thinking. It's okay, were almost done. Deb is way sicker than me anyway. And service is awesome! It's my favorite. I love doing things for other people, but I feel kinda selfishly about it. Because I like to do service for the way it makes me feel. Not so much how it makes the other person feel. Okay, maybe just a little bit. Service makes me happy. Even if it's service that I'd would rather not be doing. Plus you get blessings. And hey, ya I could use a bit right now.

Now the point of the story. My mom and my sister-in-law showed up at my house this morning to help me.
My mom helped me make the soup and do my dishes, got me something to eat, and went to run some errands for me.
Kristi called to see if wanted to go for a walk with her and couldn't cuz I had work to do. So she walked up to my house and cleaned it for me. She did my laundry, folded and put it away too (by the way, that's the worst part!) She vacuumed my workroom, cleaned the living room, and went through the pile of crap in the hallway.

You guys are awesome!!! Thank you so much for all your help. I'm so grateful for my family and friends for everything. For everything they do for me and for every opportunity they give me to serve. I love you.

P.S. Deb I hope you get feeling better!!!

You are such a great friend! Lucky people who live close to you! I know if I lived closer, I could call you if I had a problem and you could be on your death bed and you'd still come help me. Love and miss you tons!

Ok never in my life before have I missed my good ol' LDS roots more than right now! I honestly can't imagine having friends or family that help like that, the only time I had anyone come help was my mother after Isabelle was born, for 2 days, and it was more work taking care of her than it was helpful. May a million and one blessings come to that woman that cleaned your house and did your laundry, wow! You earned a new set of wings with that soup mission, my goodness, I'm so proud of you I could cry.
